Great Black and White Photographers part 3
1.) What first caught your eye while looking at your photographers photos? Is there something in particular about their photos that made you want to choose them?
The first thing that caught my eye looking at these photographers photos were the people inside the photos. In one photo it looks like a family that is walking through a dry deserted place, and there's sand flying and it's kind of dark. In another photo, it's a women holding a big vase on her shoulders, and the first thing that popped in my mind that she is a strong and independent woman.
2.) I see: In the photo I see three people who look sick and tired.
I smell: I smell the stale atmosphere since there is no plant life or water nearby.

I smell: I smell the stale atmosphere since there is no plant life or water nearby.
I hear: I can hear the sand passing through my eyes and moving across the ground. It also sounds like the wind is blowing hard.
I taste: I can taste the sand and gravel on my lips. It taste salty and dirty.
I feel: I can feel the roughness in the earth and the cracks on the ground.
I see: the crowded downtown area, and there are many people walking and passing by.
I smell: I smell the print of the fresh newspapers that have been set out to sell to pedestrians.
I hear: I can hear the honks of cars telling others to move along, and the engines of all automobiles that pass me.
I taste: Im able to taste the hotdogs that are near me as my stomach rumbles.
I feel: I feel the cement on my knees as i kneel down to take this picture of my model.
3.) To show the world the photographer I would use a Powerpoint to have more room to get every detail about him, or I would use a poster to give information about the more important things my photographer did.

Theme.
1. What theme that we could take here at school could we do a series of these panels to place around the school?
A theme we could use is school spirit. During games, school activities, pep rally's etc. We would be able to take a lot of pictures with this theme. Another theme.
2. Should we use phones only, or should we open it up to our regular cameras for those people that don't have camera phones?
We can use both, so people can use their phone if they do have camera phone, and the camera for those who don't have camera phones.
3. Where would you want to put the mural on campus?
A cool place to put the mural is Near the cafeteria or near the main stairs in the building.
Africa and Mural Project Preview
This photo is my favorite because even though it might not be the top animal there but it being in the top looking out to me shows that the animal stands on top, and the picture being in black and white adds more effect to the photo.
Nick Brandt
a. What kind of camera did he use? Pentax 6711
b. What is his reason for taking the photos? he believes that being close to the animals make a huge difference in his ability to reveal their personality.
c. What is his hope by taking these types of photos? interested in is showing the animals simply in the state of Being.
"To me, every creature, human or nonhuman, has an equal right to live, and this feeling, this belief that every animal and I are equal, affects me every time I frame an animal in my camera. The photos are my elegy to these beautiful creatures, to this wrenchingly beautiful world that is steadily, tragically vanishing before our eyes."

The Story
![]() | |||||||||||||||||
| This photo tells a story of young people planting flowers. This photo to me means that they are trying to make the world a better place by planting. |
Action and Emotion
The action in this photo shows that the girls are doing an experiment, which results in a explosion of bubbles, and you can tell by their facial expressions that the experiment was fun and cool.
Filling the Frame
This photo fills the frame because the photographer called close upon the two people and what they're doing. The smoke that is going on in this picture almost fills the whole bottom of the picture and the two people are as tall of the height of the photo.
My favorite photo from the Academics and Community Service category was the photo of the girl swimming in the pool. I like this photo because the way the photographer took the picture. He was able to get it to where he caught her right in the middle of her going back into the water. I also like the splash coming from behind her in the photo.
I think the rule of thirds was presented in this photo.

1. Where do you think you could take photos like the ones you look at today?
In any class or outside around the school.
2. Whose classroom would you like to visit and take photos in?

The 6 Rules
Simplicity
The photo is focused on the two person that seem to be upset.
Rule Of Thirds
Rule Of Thirds
The photography took the picture of the car to have it se on the center left of the photo so it can add more effect on the car and the dumpster where the car is being thrown into.
Framing
Framing
The news photos of the men in the window are framing the people that are in the window looking out. The framing leads to the people also.
Balance
Balance
The photo above shows the balance because the objects that look like they're pocking out from the ground forms the letter "w". The picture shows symmetrical balance.
Lines
Lines
The photo the building has diagonal lines, and because of these diagonal lines, they make you follow them to the fire at the top of the building.
Avoid Mergers
Avoid Mergers
The photo is cutting off men, which is known as a border merger.
