Early Magazine Covers: These magazines modeled them after books where there was only a title and a publication data. Also, they did not display description of what was inside of the magazines. Later on in the 1800's, the magazine covers began to have more illustration added. In 1835, the magazine now includes a picture with a small illustration that had decorative purpose.
Poster Covers (Pictures That Need No Words): The poster covers produced many memorable covers. Many people learned craft from the artistic posters of Art Noreau. Illustrators became famous like Charles Dana and Maxfield Parrish. These magazine made them look as if they were to be framed or hung on a wall.
